- Calcium Ammonium Nitrate (CAN)

CAN contains 27% nitrogen and 8.6% calcium as calcium magnesium carbonate (dolomite). It consists of dust-free, white free-flowing granules.
-
Why Use
- Can be considered as near-neutral in its effect on soil pH
- For use on perennial fruit crops (where soil incorporation of lime is difficult)
- Contains equal parts of fast-acting nitrate-nitrogen and longer-lasting ammonium-nitrogen
While we do not stock pure ammonium nitrate anywhere in New Zealand, one of our products, CAN, has ammonium nitrate as an ingredient, which is classed as non-hazardous and non-flammable.
